PLAYING AND SCORING
- HOW DO I MOVE THE SPIDER?
- Hold the screen, mouse, or spacebar to fire the web and climb. Release to detach and fall. There is no separate jump button.
- HOW DO I EARN POINTS?
- You earn one point after the spider passes completely through a tree gap. The bright sound and particles confirm the point.
- WHAT ENDS A RUN?
- A collision with a tree, the upper boundary, or the ground ends the run. The spider falls, then the score screen appears with Retry and Main Menu choices.
- WHAT HAPPENS AT 100 POINTS?
- The score continues upward. WebTug does not currently change worlds or end at 100, so a very long run stays focused on the same core timing challenge.
SCORES AND SHARING
- WHERE IS MY BEST SCORE SAVED?
- It is saved in local browser storage on the device and browser you used. WebTug does not require a score account.
- WHY DID MY BEST SCORE DISAPPEAR?
- Clearing site data, using private-browsing mode, switching browsers, or moving to another device can remove or hide the locally saved score.
- WHAT DOES A CHALLENGE LINK SHARE?
- It shares WebTug’s address with a
beatscore in the link. It does not attach your name, email address, or complete score history.
DEVICES, ADS, AND PRIVACY
- IS WEBTUG FREE?
- Yes. The game can be played without a purchase. Clearly labeled advertising may help support its operation.
- WILL AN AD COVER THE SPIDER?
- No. Standard website advertising is kept off the active game, including its canvas, ready screen, controls, and results screen. Ads may appear on WebTug’s substantial information and guide pages. Availability can vary by device, region, consent choice, and advertising provider.
- DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT?
- No account or sign-in is required for ordinary public play.
- WHAT INFORMATION CAN ADS USE?
- Advertising and hosting services can receive browser, device, request, cookie, identifier, and approximate-location information. The Privacy Policy explains these services and your choices in more detail.
- WHICH BROWSERS WORK?
- Current mobile and desktop browsers with JavaScript and canvas support should work best. Sound may begin only after your first tap or key press because browsers limit automatic audio.
